Archive or delete a list
Updated
In this guide
Archive a list when you want to put it away and keep it for later. Delete is a separate action for removing a list you own. Read the confirmation before proceeding.
Archive a finished list
Open the list's menu and choose Archive list where available. Find archived lists through Archived in your lists area. Archiving is useful after a birthday or holiday when you want to keep the list's history.
To bring it back, open the archived list and choose Unarchive list. Unarchiving does not reset purchased marks or create a fresh list. Check the items and settings before sharing it again.
Delete a list you own
Open the list's List options menu, choose Delete list and read the confirmation carefully. Deleting removes the list and all its gifts, and the app can't restore them. If you want to keep the old occasion or purchase history, archive it or make the copy you need first. Do not use deletion as a way to clear a reservation.
The actions depend on your role. For collaborators, Remove me from list removes their editing access. Some confirmation copy calls this archiving, but the owner must invite the collaborator again to restore access; Unarchive does not restore that permission. Confirm the action named in the dialog instead of assuming every menu does the same thing.
I deleted a list by mistake
There is no undo or trash in the app. Contact Team GiftList as soon as possible with the list's name, the account email and roughly when you deleted it. The team will check whether anything can be recovered, but recovery isn't guaranteed. Don't recreate the list under a new account while you wait.
Start over without losing the old occasion
Duplicate the list for a separate occasion and share its new link. To remove an accidental purchased mark, follow Undo a reservation instead.
