Import a wishlist or registry into GiftList
Updated
Use Import List or Registry to preview a supported list and copy selected items into GiftList. An import is a copy of available item information, not continuous syncing with the original site, and it does not copy who bought or reserved a gift.
Prepare the source list
Sign in to GiftList and have a destination list ready. On the source website, make the list public or shareable by link, then copy the list's sharing URL. A browser-only shopping cart, profile URL or individual item from a wishlist is not the whole-list link.
The importer reads lists from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Etsy, Anthropologie, Giftful, GoWish, Listful and GiftList. On a computer, a Spreadsheet tile also lets you import a CSV. Supported URL formats and retailer countries vary; the preview is the check of what GiftList can actually read.
Babylist, Zola, The Knot, MyRegistry and other registries can't be imported. Add their items one product link at a time instead, or, for an event, put the registry's link in the event's Links section.

Preview and import
- Open the destination GiftList's List options → Import List or Registry. Import a registry in the Add gift launcher, and pasting a recognized list URL into Add gift, open the same importer.
- In Import a list, paste the list's share link into the box (Paste a link from one of the sites below). GiftList detects the site from the link, so you don't need to pick a tile first; the tiles show which sites work and open help for finding each site's link.
- Choose Find items. Wait for the preview rather than repeatedly starting the import.
- Review the items, select the ones to bring over and check quantities. Items already bought on the source list stay behind, and items already on your GiftList are skipped. The preview may explain that only part of the source list could be read.
- Check the destination list if the dialog asks you to choose one, then choose Import [number] items.
- Wait for the result and compare the destination with the original. Review images, links, prices, notes and quantities before sharing it.
To start a new list from an import on the website, choose Create a list, then Import it instead. Review the new list's name and settings afterward. Mobile app menus and supported source tiles depend on the installed release; use the website if your app does not show the source.
Missing items and private lists
If the preview says the list is private, change sharing on the source site and copy its share link again. Do not assume being signed into that retailer on your own device lets GiftList read the list.
For a partial import, keep the successfully copied items and add missing products individually. Check what already exists before retrying the entire list. Importing does not delete items already in your GiftList.
A password-protected GiftList can be imported only by its owner through the supported owner route. Knowing another list's password does not make it an importable source. If a link will not work, contact support with the source type and error; do not send retailer passwords.
