Yes! GiftList is free for everyone.
Do I need an account to use GiftList?
You do not need to create an account to view a gift list shared by someone else and reserve an item. You can also use Genie (our AI-powered gift ideas generator), browse our Shop curated gift guides, or send free e-cards without an account. You will need an account to take advantage of many of our other features including creating a gift list, participating in group gift exchange, tracking special occasions, and managing your gift history.
How does a gift exchange work?
Group gift exchanges function similarly to a Secret Santa gift exchange. An organizer creates the gift exchange event, sets dates to draw gift givers and exchange gifts, and provides a recommended gift budget. We recommend that each participant add at least 3 items to their wish list as suggestions for their gift giver. After the RSVP date, participants are randomly assigned to buy a gift for someone else in the group. Gifts and gift givers are revealed on the gift exchange date.
How can I add gifts to my wish list?
There are several options for adding gifts: 1) Paste a link from any site and we'll fetch the details like magic; 2) Search for any product and add directly from your list; 3) Browse and add from our curated gift guides in the GiftList Shop; 4) Add an item manually -- perfect for cash gifts or experiences; and 5) Download our Add to GiftList desktop browser extension and add items while browsing the web. GiftList is a universal gift registry. Unlike with an Amazon wish list, GiftList allows you to add items from any site or retailer.
Who can participate in group gift exchanges?
Organizers can invite friends and family to a group gift exchange via email. Participants must accept their invitation and create an account before the RSVP deadline to participate in a GiftList group gift exchange. GiftList users also have the option of adding family member accounts for children or other family members who may not have an email address. These will be seprarate accounts but they can easily be accessed by the primary account's login information. To create a family member account, tap on your name in the menu and select Add Family Member.
