# Manage a family group or leave one

Open the group from **Following** to manage its people and settings. The controls depend on your role: managing a group, leaving it and deleting it are different actions.

## Edit a group or review invitations

1. Open **Following**, then choose the group from **Groups**.
2. Open **Group settings**. If you can manage the group, choose **Edit group**.
3. Change the offered name or cover options and save them. Check the updated group afterward.
4. Open **People** to review members and pending invitations. A pending invite is not the same as an accepted membership.

Use the group's invitation tools to invite someone new. Treat an enabled invite link as an invitation anyone holding it may use. Review invite-link settings before sharing it more widely.

## Remove someone when you have permission

In **People**, use the person's management menu and review the remove confirmation. Confirm only the intended person, then check the member list. Pending invitations may have their own remove action.

Removing a member removes their group access. Connections created only by that group can be removed too; existing friendships are treated separately. It does not delete that person's account or all their lists. Group membership never automatically grants editing permission to every list.

## Leave or delete the group

Open **Group settings**. Members can use **Leave group** where offered. The owner sees **Delete group** instead. Read the confirmation before proceeding; deleting affects the shared group, rather than just hiding it from your own navigation.

Do not assume leaving clears a personal follow relationship, revokes a collaborator invitation on a separate list, or withdraws you from a Secret Santa exchange. Review those activities separately. If you need to return, ask the group manager for an invitation.

If the controls are missing, confirm the account and role, or use the current website when an older app lacks the feature.
